Saturday morning pics and updates

Josh is playing golf this morning so I am at home playing with the kiddos and thought I'd post some pics and updates. Jay is now 3 months old. He weighs about 14 pounds and is smiling and cooing/talking alot. He loves watching his sister, swinging, sitting in his bumbo, and laying under his playgym. He is drinking 5 bottles a day----around 5 oz each bottle. He is not a big eater like Elle was. He could care less when and if you feed him----we have to make him stop smiling and EAT. He sleeps from about 8:30 pm till 7:30am----give or take an hour. He hasn't rolled over since i posted that he did it! guess that was spastic newborn energy!
Now, Elle, on the other hand is a pistol. She has been paci free for about a month now! yay! she has reverted to waking up at night 1 or 2 times, and sometimes, NO NAP. She weighs about 29 pounds. She is full blast when she's awake and a ball of energy! she is learning to dress herself and still loves dora.

We had another wonderful Christmas this year. We had a change in plans this year----we usually fly to Houston, TX to visit Josh's aunt and grandmother on Christmas Day but we postponed that trip this year and just stayed home due to Jay being so young. We had Christmas with my fam last weekend and also had a bon fire and shot fireworks at my parents house this year but i didn't take my camera :(.....but on Christmas Eve we went to church and had Josh's fam at our house. On Christmas Day, we opened presents at our house and went to Laurel for lunch. We were still busy but it was nice to be home for once.

Today was my mom's bday (Happy birthday mom!) so my parents came and went to church with us and then to Brunch with Santa at Canebrake. Elle and Jay sat in santa's lap together and got their pic made. We ate a delicious lunch and then decorated gingerbread men. So fun and we finally got an updated family pic although we forgot Tiger :(

Last night was a big night at our house because Santa Claus came over for a visit. He knocked at the front door and Elle ran to see who it was and she saw him and started backing up. She took about 10 steps back and he walked in and said HO HO HO and she looked at him and said "Give me my Presents". It was too cute. She was so nervous and that was all she could think of to say.

Just wanted to post some pics of Jay. He is 7 weeks old and is already rolling over from his tummy to his back. He did it twice last week and then 2 times yesterday and 2 times today! It's crazy......He is sleeping about 4.5-5 hrs at night and even went 6 hrs one night. I think Elle spoiled me b/c she was sleeping 6-7 hrs easily at this point :)

I can't believe Jay is already one month old today! He and Elle are a handful but they get along just fine so far. He is eating around 4 oz every 3 hrs and weighs around 9lbs. Everyone asked who he looks like and I think he looks like Elle. I included a pic of her at 1 month old to compare.

Here's some pics of our Halloween fun. On Halloween night we went to the Clayton house and got all the kids together to trick or treat in Canebrake. We rode in 2 golf carts and hit up a few of our favorite houses. The kids were unsure of it all at first but after one house they got the hang of it and were loving getting candy. We were all covered in sticky drool by the time it was all over.

Thought I would post some pics from this weekend. I took Elle to the movies on Saturday for her first time ever. We saw the Lion King 3d and she LOVED it. She was sooooo excited. I don't know what she loved the most-----popcorn/coke/candy or the movie. She was scared at first but quickly warmed up and was loving it. After Simba's daddy dies in the movie she kept asking where his dada was. Finally, we just settled on that he was asleep and she accepted it and moved on! Sunday, we went to the fall festival at canebrake. There was lots of good food, petting zoo, pony rides, and a jumpy house. She did it all except for that pony! She sat on it and then wanted mommy to ride on it with her! I told her I was too big for that pony so she was scared and wanted off. Oh well, maybe next year!

Just thought i would document what all our big sissy has been up to. Since Jay's arrival at our house Elle has been off her rocker. I guess you could call it the terrible two's, potty training, and new baby all in 2 weeks has gotten to her. Saturday night I saw water coming through our ceiling so i ran upstairs to find her surrounded by water in her bathroom. She flushed some toys down the toilet until it overflowed. She just looked at me and said " I did it. It will be okay though." She is throwing those rolling on the floor fits and whines too. She also begs me to hold her and wants to be treated like the baby. Hopefully this phase will pass fast but until then thank goodness for "Dora" dvds and extra TLC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in exactly one week Elle will be a big sister if all goes according to planned. I am scheduled to have baby boy Gianola next Thursday so i thought i would post some pics of his room. Elle is so excited and talks about him all the time. I wonder if she will feel the same way when he goes home with us. Elle started potty training on Monday this week at her school and she is doing awesome so far. She had one accident monday and tuesday but NONE on wednesday and thursday. She has gotten it down now and is telling me when she has to go instead of me having to ask her! So proud of her and can't believe it was that fast.

We took our annual trip to Seaside with Josh's family and it was great as always. I didn't know how much fun I would be having since i am almost 9 months pregnant but I didn't let it slow me down. We swam, ate, watched football, and just relaxed.

We took a trip to Orange Beach with Meredith, Gary, and Mary Clayton for the 4th and had a large time. The girls got along good and whatever one of them had---the other had to have it too! Elle would wake up every morning and say "where's Mary Clate?" Mary Clayton calls Elle "O" for some reason and its too cute.

Josh had a work conference at the perdido beach resort in Orange Beach for father's day weekend so we couldn't let him spend it alone! Our cousin's, the Luckett family were there with 2 of there children so it was great to see them and Elle loved her cousins. We got to go to dinner one night with our friends from college, the Leddy's, and Elle got to play with their little girl, Morgan. So much fun!

We had a very relaxing Memorial day and just stayed home. It felt good to not be out of town for once. We went to laurel and had some good food, swam, and I played mixed doubles in a tennis tournament and we WON!
Elle started her big girl school on tuesday at M&M learning factory. Until now, we've had our dear Mrs. Kathy keeping her at her house. I was soooooo nervous but Elle did great. She gets a report at the end of each day and so far she has eaten EVERY bite of every meal there and been a good girl. When I pick her up she doesn't even want to leave! She is enjoying learning music, having arts and crafts, and playground time. She is growing up too fast!

Josh and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend. All of Elle's grandparents were out of town so I thought it might be a good time for us to find a good babysitter since she's NEVER stayed with one. But her daddy wanted to take her along so she got to join us. She did really good at dinner and even ate half of my food which was mahi mahi with cajun sauce and shrimp. It was spicy but she LOVED it----so i got stuck eating her cheese grits! Go figure!
Elle also had her 2 year check-up this week (okay i was a month late with her appt :)

We loaded up for our annual mother's day trip to Ocean Springs for the weekend. Josh's mom and sister joined us and we had a large time. It was Mayfest in downtown so they had bands, art, and food. It was great weather and a fun weekend!

We had a big Easter this year. Elle was not about the bunny this year and would say "no bunny. bunny hurt you" it was so cute when she would say that! We went to our annual Eggstravaganza at canebrake and saw the bunny, hunted eggs, and ate some good food. On Easter Sunday, we went to Laurel to church with my family and then to my parents house for lunch and some sun.

Josh and I went snow skiing in Vail a couple of weeks ago and my camera got soaked in powerade and is pretty much done SO I haven't been able to post any pics lately. We celebrated vday this weekend with just the 3 of us. I came home from my CE conference on Friday to find a clean house, roses, and a gift certificate to the spa! All my fav things! Josh cooked tilapia, mushroom risotto, and herbed ricotta brushetta for dinner and we just hung at the house. Elle discovered strawberry milk and LOVES it. We made cookies and played outside. We took a trip to Oklahoma City to see my friend Ashley and meet her little girl, Kate. We told Elle where we were going and she called her baby "Cake" instead of Kate. We have been super busy lately getting ready for Santa. We went to Jackson last weekend and Elle got a princess kitchen from her Aunt Jenni for Christmas and she loves cooking in her kitchen. She also loves the Christmas tree and has even started hiding my ornaments and opening the gifts underneath it that she is not supposed to. Anytime she sees something that looks like Christmas she says "HO HO HO" soooo cute

My parents bought a condo in Ocean Springs, MS so we spent Thanksgiving there and went out fishing in the gulf. We caught some white trout and Elle got to take her first boat ride. She LOVED it and held her hands up in the air like she was riding a roller coaster.

Josh and I took a trip to Baton Rouge to see MSU lose to the mighty Tigers a few weekends ago. It was a fun trip even though we lost. Last weekend we took Elle to Starkville for the Alcorn State vs. MSU game. We even got on TV on Fox Sports South. Elle did great at the game!

I just got Elle's one year photos in so I posted a pic of my giclee i ordered. It is a watercolor of Elle based on one of her photos. Traci Goodwin did it and I love it! I hung it last night and Elle just points to it and says "baby". It's too cute!

Today after church we went to mama myrick's (elle's great grandmother) house for a big country lunch straight out of the garden. Elle had never seen half of the vegetables there and wasn't so sure about it. She had her first squash dressing, okra, and her first sweet tea. I think she still prefers goldfish crackers and juice but she did pretty good! After lunch she played in the dirt with her cousin Caroline and then we had to move it to my parents house for some swimming. Fun day!

We took a family beach trip to OB this weekend along with some other friends and their babies. Elle had a great time playing with Wilkes and Mary Clayton. She also had her 15 month checkup and here's her stats: weight 20.8 lbs (30 percentile) height 30 and 3/4 (50 percentile) and head is some # i can't remember but 90 percentile! lots of brains in there!

She LOVED the beach and kicked and screamed b/c i wouldn't let her get all the way in the oily ocean. She ruined one swimsuit in that nasty oil and we spent most of the time at the pool. Enjoy!

I suprised my mom with a mother/daughter/grandaughter trip to Ocean Springs. We went down on Saturday and shopped ALL day, ate lots of good food, and stayed at a boutique bed and breakfast. It was so much fun we decided to make it an annual event!

We got up on Sunday morning and came back to Laurel to celebrate mother's day and my birthday.

We had an action packed weekend. Tanner, Jennie Beth, and Justin came to stay the weekend and the kids had a blast. Elle was kind of afraid of Tanner at first but she warmed up to him and they had some fun.

Today we got Elle's pool out and let her put on her swimsuit and get in. She LOVES the water and even enjoyed a popsicle while playing in the pool. I will be ready for the water to warm up where she can get in the real swimming pool.

We took Elle on a trip to the Zoo in Hattiesburg with her cousin Caroline. She had fun looking at the animals and riding the choo choo train but her FAVORTIE part was the cherry icee popsicle. When it was gone she cried!

Here's some pics from the Easter Egg Hunt at Canebrake. They had a singing cowboy that put on a show at the beginning. Then, the Easter bunny made his grand entrance on the golf cart. They had an egg hunt and the cowboy also made balloon animals. It was so much fun and as you can see Elle thoroughly enjoyed herself.

We watched the game at Meredith and Gary's house last night and here are some pics of all the babies in attendance. Elle had her 9 month check-up on Friday and did well except for when Dr. Shook's nurse or him would have to even look at her or touch her. She is going through a phase where she is afraid of strangers! She will look at them and slowly begin to roll her bottom lip and cry until I pick her up. Her stats were: weight 18 lbs, 13 oz (50%) height 28.5 inches (75%) and head circumference was 18.5 (95%)----LOT of brains in there. ha!

Here are some pics from this morning. Elle can FINALLY sit up by herself with no pillows or anything to help her. She also has her first tooth but I can't capture a good pic of that yet. She is getting so fun and thinks everything is funny and wants to laugh all the time. She had her first sickness the last 2 weeks----ear infection and bronchitis AND teething all at once! She is feeling much better now and doing great.

We had baby dedication this Sunday at church and Elle was a hit. She was so adorable and acted like an angel! Thanks to all of our family/ friends that helped make this day so special.

We went to the seaside for the week with Josh's family and had a blast. Elle had fun on the beach but only in small increments. She would get tired of it after about 45 minutes and wanted to go inside! It was good to spend time with family and Elle. Thanks Pitty and Joe for such a great time.

4 month check-up

Elle is almost 18 weeks old and just had her 4 month check up today. She is 13 lbs 11 ounces(50 percentile), 25 and 1/2 inches tall(90 percentile), and head circumfence is 16.5(80 percentile). Dr. says we can start rice cereal in the next few weeks so we are excited.

Shorty Swing my Way

Here are some of the latest pics of Elle. She loves her new swing. Also, she tries to dunk her head under the water during her bath and wants to drink the water. She gets mad when I won't let her put her face all the way in. The last pic is of her and tiger watching Baby Einstein DVDs together. She loves them and will sit there FOREVER watching.

We took Elle to my parent's house for her first swim. She didn't cry and seemed to enjoy being in the water. She rode good in her float except for her head being wobbly still! Her cousin Rylee came over to join in on the fun too.

It's a Southern Tradition

Elle is now officially a "Sweetea"! We went to a tea party at Giggles where author Rochelle Frazier (MS state grad) signed copies of her new book "Sweeteas". The girls all got to make hats and then get the book read to them and then a tea party. It was very girly and Elle was the youngest Sweetea there! This same writer also did Yaya's and G.R.I.T.S. Spend the night party

Elle had her first spend the night party this weekend. Tanner, Jennie Beth, and Justin came to town to stay the night. Elle and Tanner had a great time talking to each other and staring. He wanted to get at her and she was loving it. They were too cute!

Josh rang in his 29th bday this weekend! We went out to eat Friday night while Pitty Pat babysat and had a family candlelit dinner on our deck on Saturday night to celebrate Josh's bday. Elle also wishes a happy bday to her Uncle Michael!

We have been going through all of our shower gifts and this front to back rider was one of Josh's favorite so he thought he would try it out with Tiger. The dog had NO problem riding in it! so funny!

We've been so busy lately and had 3 more baby showers since my last post. Elle is hooked up with some great stuff. The sweet girls at Josh's work had us a shower that was really fun. Then, my Jackson girls gave me a really nice shower and also my office gave us a shower. We are so fortunate to have all these people do such nice things for us. Here's some pics.
